Pasteur Bisimungu: President of Rwuanda from July 19, 1994 until March 23, 2000. He was an ethnic Hutu He is an ethnic Hutu born in the Gisenyi prefecture of Rwanda. He joined the primarily Tutsi Rwandese Patriotic Front when his brother, a colonel in the Rwandan Armed Forces, was assassinated, possibly on the orders of the government. His political party was unsatisfied with the Hutu government of Juvenal Habyarimana, that’s one of the factors that led to the Rwanda genocide. In July 1994 the RPF (Rwandan Patriotic Front) gained control all over Rwanda, and established a new government, which Pasteur became president, and Paul Kagame, a Tutsi was chose as the vice-president. Bizimungu became the highest social and political rank among the Hutus. It is believed that Kagame had more control over the government than Bizimungu, that initiated a conflict, and it led to many political differences between both.
