St. Thomas Aquinas - He was the author of the Summa Theologica, which was one of the greatest books ever. It was so highly revered that it was placed next to the bible, because they were both really good at explaining and exploring religion. However, when he died in 1274 he left his book unfinished. It will still go down in history as one of the greatest pieces of literature to date though.
C.S. Lewis – He was the author of “The Great Divorce.” In that book he throws in many comparisons and little tidbits relating to the Divine Comedy. He also believes in an afterlife, much like Dante, but he thinks that hell is not that big and that it is actually the size of an atom. He also thinks that hell exists within heaven.
