Recognized throughout most of his career as "the world's greatest living entertainer", Sammy Davis Jr. was an extremely popular and versatile performer. He was one of the few performers who found favor on both sides of the color barrier. His refusal to work at racist venues led to the African American integration into several nightclubs and casinos.
