This book is A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. This is an action drama book and its purpose is to show how people change. And it also shows the depth of human cruelty.
One interesting part in this book is the idea about how cruel some people can be. In one part of the book, Alex and his droog brutally beat up a bum until he spits up blood and vomit, then go to someone’s house, robs the man, and hurts his wife. I thought this was very cruel. You never know how bad people can be until you read it sometimes. When we get mad, we may also want to hurt others on the inside, but it’s not very often that people actually do it.
Towards the end of the book, Alex gets sent to prison for killing someone while trying to rob them, but eventually, he is released. And he comes out reformed. He was put into a program that brainwashed him into hating violence. Anytime he would interact with violence, he would start feeling sick. This was interesting, because its amazing how people can be......
