Child Abuse
We can ask ourselves the question over and over, "why are innocent children being abused?" We may never get a good enough answer. Children of all ages are defenseless no matter what way you look at the situation. Even at the ages 13 or 14, these children can't take on the strength of an older man or woman. Children all over the world are not just suffering from physical abuse, but more so from neglect.
Between the years 1997 and 2001, a national report showed 48% of abuse was neglect. (Ramirez) What is neglect? Let's start with the word abandon. A woman has a child and after birth she realizes she can not afford this baby. What is an easy way out of it? Give it away? Leave it at a fire station, like many have? Well many people have found this simple to do.
What about ignoring a child? Is it okay to not give a child the attention they need? Just to forget about them? Maybe even go so far as locking them up in a room. There was a case a few years back a child,......
