What is Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and who actually has it? You would actually be surprised at how many people have this disorder. It is very common among young adults and teenagers. The essential features of OCD are recurrent obsessions or compulsions that are severe enough to be time consuming (they take more than one hour a day) or cause marked distress or significant impairment (First & Tasman, 2004). Also known to be an Anxiety Disorder. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder has a lot of effects on the patient and everyone around.
