Sample Outline
This is a sample outline. After you select a topic and specific purpose and after you have established a thesis for the speech, you are ready to prepare your outline using this one as a guide. Do not write out the speech. Just use keywords and phrases. (Items in bold above are to precede the final preparation outline.)
INTRODUCTION
I. AIDS. Does anyone know what the acronym stands for? Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.
II. (Reveal your topic)
AIDS is a very big epidemic in the world. The fact of the matter is that it's not stopping. The amount of cases each year is increasing. Africa is one of the most concentrated countries which contains the epidemic.
III. (Establish Credibility)
Having a friend with AIDS was troubling. I wanted to understand the disease. I did research and tried to find out why he was always sick and in delicate condition.
