What is ARDMS? To those people not in the Ultrasound field probably don’t know. The American Registry for diagnostic Medical Sonography is a well accredited and respected program in Ultrasound. Mission statement is as follows; “ARDMS promotes quality care and patient safety through the certification and continuing competency of ultrasound professionals. ARDMS was incorporated in June 1975 is an independent non profit organization. It offers the following credentials; RDMS- registered diagnostic medical sonographer, RDCS- registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer, RVT-registered vascular technologist, RPVI- registered physician in vascular interpretation.
