In order to explain the nature of logic as it relates to critical thinking, we should break each word down by defining them. Logic is the (1) science that investigates the principles governing correct or reliable inference; (2) a particular method of reasoning or argumentation; (3) the system or principles of reasoning applicable to any branch of knowledge or study; (4) reason or sound judgement, as utterances or actions; or (5) convincing forcefulness such as inexorable truth or persuasiveness. Last but not least also defined by dictionary.com is critical thinking. Critical thinking is the process actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information to reach an answer or conclusion (www.dictionary.com, 2008).
