Amelie Poulain (Audrey Tautou), is a young woman, quite and shy she goes around hoping to pass un-noticed, yet she pay attention to all that goes on around her. A wide-eyed girl she looks at the world in a magical light, and from the beginning you find yourself submerged in her magical world. Amelie was the daughter of two very eccentric couple, when she was a little girl her dad diagnosed her with a “heart” problem, which resulted in her being brought up with very little exposure to the outside world. When she is old enough she packs her bags and decides to explore and discover the world outside the walls of her house. Amelie takes a job at a restaurant, from then on she changes the lives of everyone she meets and ultimately her own.
