Throughout the course of this year we have studied synthesis, the composition or combination of parts or element so as to form a whole. There are three works in particular that reflects my understanding of the word ‘synthesis.’ The three works discussed in this paper include the short story, “The Rocking-Horse Winner” D.H. Lawrence, the poem, “Mending Wall” by Robert Frost, and “??????????” by blahblah. The content in these texts have an underlying, coherent theme of communication and relationships.
In “The Rocking-Horse Winner” by D.H. Lawrence, he discusses family relationships, where in many cases, bear the ‘seeds of destruction” that lead to the downfall of other family memebers.
The conversation between Paul and his mother focus on luck and money. The reader should be aware of Hester’s crave for money. Pauls mother tells him that his father is not lucky and because of this, she is no longer a lucky woman. The conversation ends with Paul......
