The Catbird Seat is about a person coming into a new work environment and the

impact that person will have on the work environment as well as there own career. The author

did an excellent job developing the plot.

The story is set in an office environment where a new young female is being introduced

by the personnel director as a special advisers to the president of the company. “This is Ms.

Ulgine Barrow said Mr. Old Roberts, Personnel Director.” Immediately several employees

started to question the merits of her appointment. Ms. Paird (a type person you can find in just

about every workplace in America) who seem to be able to find things not generally shared with

all employees somehow learned that Ms. Barrows had met......
