Given the demographics of the US population, the demand for healthcare will undoubtedly grow over the long term. In the short term there are too many regulatory, political, and structural barriers in the market to expect large swings in growth or valuations that would validate the risks of a market timing investment strategy. I would not recommend investing in this sector for a period of less than 36 months.
