Hinduism is thought to be one of the oldest religions in the world. Hinduism, unlike other religions, is not bound by documented religious laws. There are people who argue that because of not having concrete religious laws that Hinduism is not a religion per se. This paper will show that the Hindu religion does in fact share traits of traditional religions and has a major impact on the lives of the people who practice Hinduism.
Although lacking a uniting belief system, the Hindu religion is made up of the belief in Brahman; Brahman is the name of the main God of the Hindu religion. Apart from this, Hindu practitioners believe in many different Gods and Goddesses. It is thought that there are as many as 330 million Gods and Goddesses worshipped by Hindus worldwide. Hindus spend their whole lives attempting to find and understand Brahman.
