CARBON FIBER COMPOSITES
Introduction
Since the beginning of times, both humans and nature have been putting materials through their maximum durability and performance tests. It did not take humans long to figure out that elements had synergy when combined and the final product of combining two or more materials had the potential to possess far better characteristics than each of the individual materials on its own. The settlers of the North American continent used clay with embedded straw as Adobe bricks to build their houses with, this proved to be much stronger and more durable than just clay alone. There was use of metals and even alloying technology in ancient Japan to produce strong Samurai weaponry. In modern times, humans are still searching and testing for the ultimate material, and, with the development of carbon fiber composites we are astoundingly close. The cost of carbon fiber in previous years has been the limiting factor on complete implementation and use of......
