No, I don’t believe that symbols, metaphors or experiences prove the existence of deity at all. When a skeptic looks at the concept of religion, or faith as a whole, they immediately point out the fact that the pillars of belief are based on feelings, not fact. Therefore, by saying a universal icon or representation would further strengthen the argument in the favor of deity is really just helping in the case of the doubter. When someone truly believes in their faith, they devote a huge part of their heart and emotions and psychological being to that conviction. To say that they have had an ‘experience’......
