Advantages of Nuclear Power
American life in the 21st century is pretty comfortable. Most homes in the United States have heating and air conditioning. Washers, dryers, vacuums, and dishwashers help get household chores done faster, which in turn allows people more time to relax in front a television or computer. However, these technologies and inventions require energy to run, and lots of it. The current means of producing power is inefficient, dirty, and will not last into the next century. To maintain the lifestyle to which people have become accustomed, a change in energy production is needed. Nuclear power remains the most effective and immediately available method of producing electricity today. Nuclear power is renewable, safe, and economical and causes minimal environmental impact. Additionally, the so-called dangers of nuclear power are overstated and easily avoidable.
