For my generation, popular culture is the root of many of our actions and behaviors. Television, the internet, movies, video games, etc. are the main form of entertainment for teenagers and twenty-somethings, heck for most of the United States population. The things we do and the way we deal with certain situations have a great deal to do with what we see on TV or hear celebrities are doing. For instance if we are in an argument with a significant other, one might think to themselves, “What would Dawson do?” Ok, I didn’t actually watch that show, Dawson’s Creek that is, and it is quite an old example, considering the series ended like five years ago. But it’s the way many of the youth today think. This is how so-and-so handled this situation on that one show. While at times television could be a great insight and be very informing in certain situations, things don’t always turn out like they do on TV. Some people just need to learn this fact.
