The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

I. Summary of the Story
“The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini is a novel set in the 20th century Afghanistan. In 1978, Amir (Zikiria Ebrahimi) a wealthy Pashtun boy and Hassan (Ahmad Khan Mahmoodzada), the son of Amir’s father’s servant, spend their days in peaceful Kabul wandering the streets, flying kites and just being boys. Hassan and his father, Ali, are Hazaras who work as servants for Amir and his father, Baba (Homayoun Ershadi). Although Baba loves both the boys very much, it seems he is critical of his son Amir for not being manly enough. However, Baba’s good friend, Rahim Khan, is like a father figure for Amir, who supports his interest in writing stories.
Assef (Elham Ehsas) is a very mean and violent boy who teases Amir for being friends with a Hazara, Hassan. According to Assef, Hazara is very low class, an inferior race that should only live in Hazarajat......
