America is at a time of financial distress. The issues concerning the people of America are critical to winning the election. Issues such as tariff, Free Silver, and the gold standard are pushing the votes. At a time of economic peril, this election proves to be important in securing the nation’s social and economical future. Similar to the election of today, the Election of 1896 is based on the thing that matters most to people, money. In any election, no matter whether a candidate cares about racial equality, starving babies, abortions, and so on, the only thing of dire importance to the people, the voter, is whether he/she is in the red or the green. Money is the basis in which all things are possible.
