Mohandas “Mahatma” Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869 and even today the whole nation observes a national holiday to celebrate the birth of a great man. Gandhi was a big believer in non violence and hence gave his theory; if a person slaps you on one side of the face you give him the other side of the face to slap you again. This would immediately humiliate the other person and would make him realize his mistake.
Gandhi was a man of his principals, values, morals and beliefs. He had unique style of leading without violence. He was so charismatic that even today he is known as the “FATHER OF THE NATION.” He led the then dividing country of India to stand against the British rule and was really instrumental in the fight for the freedom. At a time when the whole nation was falling apart, when the Hindu rulers were fighting with the Muslim rulers, he came along and with his charisma bought them together and taught them to rule as one nation.
