The use of the internet has forced many businesses to adapt their methods of operation. The book industry has competitively changed its once single minded source and has expanded into other options. This paper will address the book industries new perspective on marketing, product information, convenience, affiliates, and what it offers in-stores.
Marketing “is just a fancy word for selling.” (Levinson, 2008). The book industry has changed the way it sells its books, because of online companies that offer the same products. Online the prices may be cheaper for the actual book, but because of the charges for shipping and handling consumers are actually forced to spend more on the same book.
