The quest, for independence and freedom, is a long hard road. Many people in America in the 1700's desired to walk down this arduous path. In deciding to declare independence from the British threshold, the Americans started their journey down the passage to independence. They completed their seemingly impossible quest for independence due to the major advantages of the colonies and the disadvantages of the British.
The American colonists that were fighting in the war for independence had the upper hand on the British when it came to the fighting aspect of the war. The colonists had been raised on the land they were fighting on, so they were familiar with the terrain and landscape of their country. Their knowledge of the land came into good use when the technique of guerilla warfare became popular. This new fighting style ravaged the British forces, for the attacks were very costly on the British.
