Afghanistan Rattled Again by Qaukes, Two Dead
Two people were killed and others were injured in northern district of Nahrin on Sunday in Afghanistan because of numerous tremors and earthquakes. Unfortunately, over the last three weeks, hundreds of people have died due to these horrific earthquakes.
"Pakistani seismologists said the Sunday quake measured 5.3 on the Richter Scale, only a little less intense that the series of shallow quakes which some one-thousand people in Nahrin district last month" (www.nytimes.com). This amounts was considered to be light because most people lost everything they owned (homes destroyed) and ended up having to sleep in tents. Heavy rains added to the destruction as well. Most of the homes were made of some type of mud, which allowed the homes to collapse much quicker during the times when tremors were apparent.
