Functions of Management Paper
The four functions of management are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. All four of these functions of management are used through out each and every type of business out there in the world.
The first function of management is planning. Planning is "specifying the goals to be achieved and deciding in advance the appropriate actions needed to achieve those goals." Planning includes analyzing current situations, looking into the future of the company, deciding what activities the company should look into and determining resources needed to achieve the goals. In my place of employment, at a local hospital, planning is used throughout every aspect of the organization. We use planning through patient check-in and check-out, how to get the patients to come to the hospital, the procedures that the doctors perform, the jobs of the nursing staff, and how each employee does their job.
