Information Technology and the Other Degree Programs
Introduction
This paper is primarily about the Information Technology Department and how the Information Systems, the Computer Science Departments, and Computer Engineering courses relate to Information Technology. Each of these specialties has their similarities and differences to the Information Technology department. Georgia Southern University has a strong College of Information Technology, which offers three disciplines, which are the Computer Science Department, the Information Systems Department, and the Information Technology Department.
Information Technology, according to the Information Technology handout in class, can best be defined by "The typically electronic tools and techniques for gathering, storing, manipulating, and analyzing, and communicating information" ("Information Technology" handout from Web CT pg 2).
