Reflection Paper - Diversity
Over the last century, mankind has made significant increases in the fight against discrimination. Pioneers such as Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Susan B. Anthony have made progress in this fight. One would be completely ignorant to say discrimination does not exist today.
It is a harsh realization to see the discrimination that goes on in today's society. Everywhere you go there are racism, sexism, and violence because of both issues. Look at schools; you can always point out what that majority race is in that institution. When it comes to a certain city, the city is very much segregated. Yes, we have made progress but our world is still very much corrupt.
When the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was created, it provided protection for all persons regardless of race, color, or national origin. Today colleges and employers are given quotas and are forced to turn down qualified applicants based on their race or sex. This is to me is a form of......
