April 19, 1995 was a day of horror for countless families. 168 people were killed including children. A massive car bomb containing approximately 4000 pounds of ammonium nitrate and diesel fuel destroyed the Alfred Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Oklahoma City Bombing was the largest domestic terrorist attack in the history of the United States. The possibility of a terrorist attack striking America was unheard of in the minds of American citizens who were more accustomed to viewing major disasters in places like Bosnia. One by one people across the country Americans said the same thing, "This does not happen here. It happens in countries so far away, so different they might as well be on the dark side of the moon. It happens in New York. It happens in Europe" ( Johnson 12).
