Vincent Van Gogh Museum
On November 22 I visited the Vincent Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. This museum basically leads you through the life and works of Van Gogh and also pieces by other artists who were connected to Van Gogh from the period of 1830 to 1914. There were many different galleries in the museum but the gallery that I liked the most was the Auvers-sur-Oise. Auvers-sur-Oise was the village near Paris that Van Gogh lived in after he left the insane asylum in 1890. This village had a beautiful countryside which Van Gogh started to depict in his works.
In this gallery a there were a few works that I liked. One was called View of Auvers by Vincent Van Gogh, this was painted in 1890 and it was an oil painting on canvas. Another was Wheatfield under thunderclouds by Vincent Van Gogh, this was also painted in 1890 and it is oil paint on canvas. I also liked Wheatfield with crows by Vincent Van Gogh, this like the others was painted in 1890 and it was oil on canvas.......
