For the essay of .A Hanging・ by George Orwell, the author put more effort on describing the gallows, prisoner and head jailer so as to point out the inhumanity and cruelty in taking of another life.
For example, he described the death- scene of the Hindu. As the writer didn・t take part in the execution, so he enabled to look at the process of hanging and heard to the steady crying from the prisoner going on and on. As a reader reading this part of the essay, I have a strong feeling to it. Just imagine someone died in front of you from hanging that the scene was quite horrible and also disturbing, but the fact was that you could not do anything to stop it. That feeling was hard to explain! You know one minute before, someone cried and struggled for help, after that the prisoner has gone and then the environment became silence.......
