The Functions of Management
There are certain functions one must use in order to succeed as a manager. As a manager he or she must understand what the term management means. Management is a process of working with the consumer and the employees to accomplish organization along with goals within the company. To be the manager does not mean that one is the "boss" or "person in charge."
As a manager one must get past the arrogance that the position can bring, have skills, and follow the functions of management. The four functions of management are: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.
When a manager uses planning he or she has in mind that there are goals that need to be planned along with a strategy on how to achieve those goals. These goals are not just short-term goals but the goals need to also focus on the future of the business.
