"A way of Life"
Failure: a word that plays continuously in my head, always mocking. Everyday effort is put into everything I do; I smile, thinking the voices of parents, teachers, society, and the world will one day play a different tune. "There is an eagle in me that wants to soar, and there is a hippopotamus in me that wants to wallow in the mud." (Carl Sandburg) For years the future I dreamed seemed impossible. But one has to wonder, is there really an eagle inside? Or is there simply a hippo that will never evolve into an inspiring creature.
Undoubtedly, there is a decision whether or not they will succeed in life. That decision can turn into a heavy and excruciating burden in a matter of seconds. Carl Sandburg describes that when striving for success, a sudden high, an addiction for life occurs. If we trust in ourselves we will soar.
