Call to task: The call to task in the " Odyssey " was that Odysseus must first go fight in the Trojan War against his own will but after the war is done he must find his way back to Ithaca to see his wife Penelope and son Telemachus.

Mentor: Odysseus's mentors include Athena. Athena helps Odysseus through out the journey by making him look young and Odysseus prays to Athena because she is his patron goddess. Telemachus has more of a mentor than his father. Telemachus's father is his mentor. Telemachus goes looking for his father at king Nestor's Island and learns about how his father was such a great man.

Labyrinth: Odysseus goes through a long and tedious maze on his journey back to Ithaca. He confronts monsters like Scylla, Charybdis, and the sirens. He also faces godly creatures like Poseidon who hate him. Odysseus must use his mind to solve problems like how to move the cyclops's rock and must learn to trust people like the witch Circe, who turned his men to pigs.......
