This entry takes place from September 23rd- October 18th, 1805 in Orofino, Idaho, which is located 46 degrees north and 116 degrees west.
The Corps of Discovery sets out in canoes with the current at their back; head towards the Pacific Ocean. Watkuweis, an old woman that belonged to the Nez Perce tribe, returned back, after escaping enslavement and told her people about how nice the white people treated her. Lewis and Clark Stayed among the Nez Perce for about 2 weeks. The chief of the Nez Perce tribe was named “twisted hair”. He decided to kill to kill the corps of Discovery at first, but Watkuweis told him about the white people that treated her nicely and persuaded him not to kill The Corps. The main type of food they ate around this area were salmon, because the river was full of salmon, but the corps of discovery got sick of salmon, and want to eat meat, so their slaughtered and roasted a horse. Lewis and Clark made 5 dugout canoes using the Indians......
