For my final project I choose to discuss the duties of an Addiction Therapist as well as related jobs. I found that the salaries for these positions can be fairly low if you have patience, dedication, and a passion for the work or just enjoy a challenge this may be the job for you.
Tom Duvall is an Addition Therapist at New Vistas Crisis Center. He currently holds a Masters degree which is required for this position. Most clients are court ordered because they are struggling with addition. New Vistas offers 2 different types of treatment group and individualized. The environment can be very supportive in a substance abuse center due to the fact everyone is working toward the same goal promoting sobriety. Tom’s job is to motivate them to want a better quality of life without substance abuse.
