Mom, he’s touching me! Are we there yet? Parents, does this sound familiar?
Vacations are supposed to be relaxing, entertaining, and hopefully a time to connect
as a family. In order to realize this slice of euphoria, families are forced to
frugally save and plan, sometimes for years. So why is it so difficult to get ready
for fun in the sun? Pre-trip clothes shopping is imperative, purchasing snacks and
drinks for the car, entertainment for the children, and earplugs. In addition,
before the car can be loaded, someone has to wash, sort, and pack the clothes for
the family; gather toys for the beach or grandma’s, plus gifts for the family.
Typically dad services the car to ensure that nothing catastrophic will occur
mechanically to spoil the excursion. Mom packs the first aid kit, just in case.
