Abstract
The brain is the most complex organ in the human body. Different hypotheses are in study to find the cause for one of the most disabling neuropsychiatric disorders. Schizophrenia plagues approximately 1of 100 people around the world. In the literature review, men tend to be more prevalent to this disorder than women are in the early onset stage. Schizophrenia causes several disrupting symptoms to the individual's life. This disorder can cause symptoms like delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thoughts, and speech. Schizophrenia can present itself in several subtypes, with each subtype representing other plaguing symptoms. Researchers look into the neural mechanisms of the brain that may be involved, as well as other factors such as genetic factors and early experiential factors.
