Role of nurse in charge in stroke rehabilitation ward
Background
Ward 6,woodend is a 16 bed stroke rehabilitation area caring for patients who have suffered a stroke and tend to require a longer period of rehabilitation.All the patients require high levels of nursing input and supervision due to their complex care needs.staff nurse is accountable for all clinical decision making undertaken and for all clinical assessment and treatment under their management .
The author has 6 years experience in ward 6 currently working as band 5 staff nurse .the author is responsible for providing high standard of nursing care through leading and directing the assessment ,planning,implementation and evaluation of patient care.the figure 1 illustrates the ward 6 oranisational chart and the author’s position at present .
