The seven phases of the development life cycle are Planning, System Analysis, Systems Design, Development, Testing, Implementation, and finally, Maintenance. When planning a new project, the company’s management will determine whether to build a new system or modify an existing system. To help the company make this decision, they will perform four types of feasibility analyses. The four analyses are, technical, economic, operational, and schedule. They use these analyses to determine how to go about starting and going through the steps of the project. The planning phase is important because it helps to create and brainstorm the process needed to finish the project.
In the system analysis phase, a systems analyst will work with the company to fully understand any problems that the company may have when proceeding with the project.
