The main purpose of law is to regulate the acitivities , punish the ones who are committing illegal activities. With changing times, the law needs to change to be meaningful and appropriate for the current situation, but yet some laws should be rigid.
By creating a law, the citizens of the country are required to oblige by it and should not deviate from it. A law is enforced at different times, according to the mindset of the government at those times. Some of them would be relevant to this day, but some may not. To quote a few instances, Equal rights to men and women. In today's world this indeed is every person's right. The same did not hold true some time back. Equal rights to people of all colour. In the past, blacks were illtreated and were treated to be just slaves . They did not have the same privilege as whites had. Whites were given preference over blacks.
