Babies should only be conceived naturally ?
When we say babies should only be conceived naturally, what do we mean by naturally? Well, of course I am talking about the conjugal act, and what then is to conceive unnaturally? Treatments such as IVF, or AIH (artif. semin. by husband) or AID (artif. semin. by donor.)
Roman Catholics are against these unnatural, assisted ways of conception because they believe they interfere with nature.
‘A man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife and the two will become one flesh.’ [GENESIS 2:24]
RCs interpret this verse as showing that procreation should take place through the conjugal act. They believe that infertility is God’s will, and couples should accept this and trust that He will give them the support that they need. Another reason why the RC church opposes these assisted conceptions is that they all involve the sinful act of masturbation.
