In the author’s experience, as well as the experience of educators with whom the author is
acquainted, there are a variety of specific conditions and behaviors that may occur in the
classroom which serve as a hindrance to educators, in regard to teaching, as well as to
students, in regard to learning. It is important for the beginning teacher to be
aware of such common occurrences, in order they may plan ahead and be prepared to
