A Reflection of a Health Promotion Teaching Plan Undertaken Whilst on Clinical Placement
Within this essay a health promotion teaching plan undertaken whilst on clinical placement will be reflected upon. The health promotion theory underpinning the teaching plan will be analysed. The essay will be structured using Gibbs reflective cycle as identified by Jasper (2003:77).
A brief description of the patients condition and an outline of the teaching that was undertaken is available in appendix A, it was evident that as the patient developed mucositis following being educated about prevention and management of this side effect of his chemotherapy that the methods used to teach the patient and the plan itself should be analysed to see how this could be modified for future teaching opportunities. As the patient had developed mucositis the aims of my teaching plan had not been met and it is therefore necessary to evaluate the activity
