An abortion can be induced in humans, or can occur spontaneously due to complications during pregnancy. Within human pregnancies, an abortion induced to preserve the health of the pregnant female is called a therapeutic abortion, while an abortion induced for any other reason is called an elective abortion. Abortion has a long history and has been induced by various methods including physical trauma, the use of sharpened tools, medicines, and other traditional methods. In many parts of the world, there is prominent and divisive public controversy over the ethical and legal issues of abortion. Abortion is viewed as the most common method of murdering unborn children, therefore, every country should work together to make laws in order to prevent abortion.
