Case Study Analysis: TRURO
TRURO is a multi-divisional oil company in the Middle East. TRURO recognized the need to conduct the Balance Scorecard (BSC) technique, to relate its progress with strategic goals. The development process of the BSC started by reviewing the company's strategic goals and priorities, and a total of seven BSC were developed. Also, the BSC were applied on the subunits of the company. The main aim of the development of BSC at TRURO is the communication of strategy and monitoring the delivery of strategic goals.
TRURO used the bottom-up approach in the development of the Balance Scorecard, and that was based on the subunits BSC work moving up to the corporate BSC that was done last. In this approach some limitations were encountered and that due to subunits BSC was not clearly informed by goals of the business as a whole. There was misalignment between the subunits design of BSC and corporate's strategic goals. TRURO could not achieve the ultimate benefit......
