Responsibility vs. Accountability
The scope of this discussion will cover one item from Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements and one item from the University of Phoenix General Student Responsibilities, Standards of Student Behavior. The First item will discuss the accountability for nursing judgment and action in a juvenile hall setting from the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements. The Second item discuss is to accept responsibility for working in a group from University of Phoenix General Student Responsibilities in a student setting.
First, nurses act under a code of Ethical conduct that is grounded in the moral principles of fidelity and respect for the dignity, worth, and self-determination of patients (www.nursingworld.org/ethics/code/protected_nncoe303.htm#4.2).
