Examining a Business Failure
Organizational Leadership- Week 1
“There were and are good men in positions of power at General Motors who do not know the business they are running. Many were not good businessmen in the areas with which they are familiar.” (2008) Once known as the nation’s largest car manufacturer, to date General Motors has not lived up to its legacy. They were once known by their mission and commitment to excellence. Currently, these goals have fallen by the wayside. While taking a closer look into the company, failed organizational behavior theories appear to be evident. I will address the theories that stand out with importance.
In my opinion, the failure that occurred with General Motors started with the employees. This leads to the first organizational behavior; improving ethical behavior. Ethics are extremely important, especially when you are running a billion dollar company. In order for the business to be successful, you must operate your business......
