Mexican first migrated to the US was in the 1970, the share of Mexico’s population living in the US was only 1.5% by 2005. My parents migrated in the search of a better life for their children. A better life for many Mexican families meant a fair education, freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. Many Mexican families left their homeland because of bad government and poor education and the fear of their own regime. My parents were afraid we would suffer just like they did growing up as a poor Mexican so they fled to the US. Within a few years, the legal paperwork to sponsor them to the U.S. was approved.
My parents migrated from Mexico and I wasn’t even born yet. I am very grateful to my parents for making that decision.
